Who we are
The 3D Printing Guys, the people behind 3D Printing University. Anything about your data: [email protected].
What we collect when you join the waitlist
- Your email address.
- Your first name, if you give it.
- What you want to do with your printer, if you pick one.
- Where you came from: the tag on the link you tapped, and the site that sent you.
- The date and time you joined, and the consent line you agreed to.
- A scrambled code made from your IP address, kept for 24 hours only, to stop spam signups.
Why
- Email: to send you the invite when 3D Printing University opens, and the occasional free guide.
- Name: to say hello properly.
- Printer goal and where you came from: to see which posts bring people in and what to build next.
We only do this because you asked us to. You can take that back any time.
When you comment a keyword on our Instagram
Comment one of our keywords (like PRICING) on an Instagram post or reel of ours and our system sends you one direct message with a link to that free guide. Instagram passes us the comment so we can do that. We keep:
- Your Instagram username, and the ID Instagram gives you for our app.
- Which post or reel it was, which keyword you used, and when.
- Whether the message went, and any error Instagram sent back.
We do not keep what your comment said, and we keep nothing at all about comments that do not hold a keyword. We use this record only to send the guide you asked for and to make sure you never get the same message twice. It is deleted on its own after 90 days. Instagram is run by Meta, which handles your comments and messages under its own privacy policy.
The links in that message count how many times each one is tapped, per day. The count is a number only, with nothing about who tapped it. If you then join the waitlist, it records which keyword sent you, as with any other link tag.
To have your record deleted sooner, see delete your data.
Where it is kept
In a Cloudflare database in Western Europe. Nobody else sees it, and we never sell or share it.
When we send the emails, your address goes to the email service we send them with, and nowhere else.
How long we keep it
Waitlist details: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Instagram keyword records: 90 days. The spam-check code goes after 24 hours.
Unsubscribe or have it deleted
- Unsubscribe: use the link at the bottom of any email from us.
- See, correct or delete your details: email [email protected] from the address you signed up with.
- Instagram keyword records: see delete your data.
- Timing: we do it within one month, usually much sooner.
Not happy with how we handled it? You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
This website
- No cookies, no tracking, no analytics. The only count we keep is the daily number of taps on our Instagram links, described above.
- Fonts load from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address when they load.
- The free tools save your progress on your own device only. Nothing you enter in them reaches us.
The rules for using the site and the guides are in our terms of use.
